This may be due to the myth that skin diseases are a benign, not life- threatening, can cause minor nuisance and are not life threatening so given less priority. However, nowadays, there seems to be a high demand by patients and healthcare workers formoreconsideration to begiventoskindiseases. Based on adetailed reviewofthemedical literature, this document presents comprehensive data on the epidemiology of common skin disorders and their complete information along with possible measures for controlling the problem. The study was performed with a view to eventual integration of matters relating to skin diseases in mass community. The document aims to provide all the elements needed for a rational discussion of the problem, its symptoms and preventive measures.
